Don MacDonald

Mr. MacDonald has been involved in the development and/or operation of over 20 mines in North and South America over his career. He has been involved in the completion of multiple mine financings, and merger and acquisition transactions. He is a CPA, CA, with bachelor and master’s degrees in engineering from Oxford University.

He served as CFO of Quadra FNX (now KGHM International) from 2010 to 2017 and of NovaGold Resources Inc. from 2003 to 2010. Most recently, Don was Acting President & CEO of KGHM International. He is also a director of the Mining Association of Canada, and of the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines


Peter Portka

Peter Portka

Mr. Portka is a mining financial professional with extensive metals and mining experience in corporate finance, corporate developments, public accounting and M&A advisory. During his career, he has been extensively involved with, and led, detailed financial due diligence on a multitude of mining investment opportunities, public financings, financial reporting and managing the day-to-day corporate operations of the company. He was most recently the VP Finance of Quintana Resources Capital, a US-based mining investment company and prior to that, was the Corporate Controller and Manager, Corporate Development at Sandstorm Gold Royalties. Mr. Portka holds Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.


Scott Fulton

Mr. Fulton is a P.Eng. and has an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering. Scott has 25 years of multi-industry experience and has spent the last 12 years in mine construction and development as a Project Manager for Wood (formerly Amec Foster Wheeler) where he executed a number of new build mines in Canada and the US, specifically focusing on northern climate and brownfield expansions including working on New Afton, Kitsault, Mount Emmons, Brucejack, Rainy River, and Carlsbad East. His most recent position at Wood Vancouver, was as Chief Engineer and Manager of Common Operations for the Engineering and Project Delivery teams.


David Harpley

VP, Permitting and Environmental Affairs

David Harpley

Mr. Harpley has 34 years of experience in environmental studies and management related to the mining industry, initially in South Africa and subsequently in Canada and the Americas. He was an environmental manager for several large consulting firms, undertaking studies to permit new mines, close existing mines, develop waste and water management plans. Since joining NorZinc, he has been responsible for all environmental issues, and led the effort to acquire new operating permits for the mine and access road, including authoring much of the material for regulatory submission, and appointing, managing and reviewing the work of consultants.


Michael Vande Guchte

Mr. Vande Guchte is a professional geologist with over 20 years' experience in the mineral exploration industry. He received a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Alberta in 1986 and Diploma of Technology from BCIT in 2000. Michael has worked with both major and junior companies focused on gold and/or base metals exploration in Canada, USA, South and Central America. Mr. Vande Guchte was formerly the President & CEO of Paragon Minerals Corporation (now a 100%-owned subsidiary of NorZinc) and has been involved with the South Tally Pond VMS Project for the past 6 years.

Mr. Lanzon has over 20 years of experience in governmental affairs and in developing community partnerships with natural resource companies. Mr. Lanzon held management positions with mandates for business development and government affairs and has worked for the Federal Government of Canada, the Northwest Territories Government, the House of Commons and the Senate of Canada.

Chris is an AScT and CRSP with over 20 years experience in project management. Recently, Chris was part of New Gold’s leadership team that constructed the Rainy River Mine where he advanced local indigenous community participation with business and employment development and lead comprehensive benefits agreement implementation.


Wilbert Antoine

Wilbert Antoine

Mr. Antoine has over 40 years' experience in the mining industry involved in a variety of positions from operations to management at Cardinal River Coal and Ekati Diamond Mines. Mr. Antoine, as an Elder and Member of the Liidlii Kue First Nation, has extensive contacts with the Government of Northwest Territories and various levels of Aboriginal Governments.

Ted Boychuk

Mr. Boychuk has 30 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, mining, road construction and maintenance, and management. He has been responsible for cost control analysis of road construction, quality control monitoring, creation of safety programs, heavy equipment operation and repairs, and management of a variety of operations throughout his diverse career.
